Established in 1874, It was the first federally approved nautical instruction college in the United States. The 55-acre waterfront campus is located at historic Fort Schuyler at the junction of the East River and the Long Island Sound. The majority of students are members of the collegeââ¬â¢s Regiment of Cadets, a military-style physical and maritime training program. SUNY Maritime offers 12 undergraduate programs of study in marine science, engineering and maritime studies as well as a masterââ¬â¢s degree program in international transportation management.
